Good 24hrs: Duke loses, Vols win

Despite most 'reader predictions', the vols roared to a first round win putting up more points than any team in recent tournament history. Bruce Pearl keeps doing his crazy thing - bring on the 'wahoos'. I think the Vols handle Virginia.

This has been the most boring two days though, although Duke losing in the first round and seeing a picture of Coach "K" afterwards was priceless. I want some dadgum upsets and buzzer beaters!!

....if you have any more thoughts on life other than the NCAA tournament right now.....shame on you, very 'anti-sweet emotion'.

We still need a true upset outside of VCU vs. Duke... Holy Cross appears to be our last hope.

PS Watching Duke lose always makes for a fun day.

One of my friends said that God foreordained Duke to win the tournament in a come-from-behind upset victory.

Fortunately, I saw him on campus from a good distance off yesterday and yelled out "Go Duke!"

This is the first bracket I've ever made and I'm doing pretty well with 28 correct picks so far, so hopefully I can keep that up.

that's a beautiful story Daniel, i think we can all conclude that the nickname 'blue devil' goes further than a mascot...

wow, I've been in Disney World for a week, and I'm embarrassed to say I've only been able to watch about 20 total minutes of the tournament. I'm pulling for Vandy and the Vols now. i would love to see what Bruce Pearl does if he wins the National Title. He would probably rip off his shirt and pants.

the basketball gods will never allow bruce pearl to win the national title. he supports w@m*n's basketball.

Oh Joel...Joel, Joel, Joel...never let us think that you would pull for Duke over Tennessee. It was a stunt - it was good job security - the only thing you should regret is that it caused us to have to see Pat Summit in a cheerleading uniform. My eyes - my poor eyes...I'll never be the same.

Joel's just bitter that the Vols ended any shred of Hope that Georgia had of making the tourney...

i didn't really expect to make the tourney, so i'm not real bitter. and no, i would not cheer for duke over ut this year, because i love chris lofton. once he's gone however, i'll be pulling for everyone, including ohio state and notre dame and florida, because bruce pearl stands for something i find terribly offensive. and if he is willing to sell his soul for "good job security," well, i think that is very unmanly indeed, and not remotely sweet emotion

AND, the entire big 10(11) bowed out early, save ohio state. and i think they probably shouldn't have won that game. and if the refs didn't treat oden like michael jordan in his prime, they surely wouldn't have.
