Coach Andy Kennedy is back at it again. There are many things I love about the 2nd year basketball coach of the Ole Miss Rebels. 1) He wins basketball games. 2) You can understand him in interviews unlike his football counterpart. 3) He tells it like it is with some good dry sarcasm.
Here are his comments following the Ole Miss victory on Saturday.
On freshman Zach Graham, who played 17 minutes and had zero rebounds: "That's the same as a dead man."
After junior Terrence Watson took an atrocious jump shot that was out of his range and missed the rim by three feet, he turned and ran back down the court. He was greeted by a glare from Kennedy and a sarcastic "Great shot, Terrence."
On Williams, who's shooting touch has improved: "3-for-5 from the foul line. Are you kidding me? That's a miraculous step for him."
On the Ole Miss post players shooting a combined 12-of-14 from the field against MVSU's undersized team: "When we got it close, we scored efficiently. And I hope we would against 6-foot-2 guys."

Over/Under on number of years before this guy is coaching at a premier program. Let's set it at 2 years. I'll take the under. If he had slicked back guido-style hair, it would be less. By the way, did you know that Ole Miss was one of the best teams in the SEC last year in 2nd half scoring and defense? That's good coaching.
I did not realize Kennedy's second half scoring and defense stat I like it.
I will take the under on Kennedy's coaching career at Ole Miss. How long can you ask a guy to coach in a place that when it rains, your guys have to practice around buckets on the floor. The Sad Pad is such an embarrassment
Andy Kennedy is the kind of guy I could see leaving the Pad after a game all by himself. Going to a seedy bar, drinking half a bottle of Irish Whisky and getting into a fight with a drunk homeless man. Then, when the cops show up to break up the fight, he spits in the face of the arresting officer and spends the night in the clank. He goes to work the next day in the same suit he was wearing the night before with a black eye, smelling like piss and cigarettes. And he opens up practice saying something like (but not necessarily), "I look a helluva lot better today than I did yesterday after that s&*%$&^ game and a helluva lot better than you will ever look... now go shoot some lay ups."
Andy will be at Ole Miss two more years, no more, no less.

I tried steps 1-4 yesterday. I have come to the conclusion that I am well past "dunking prime" which seems to be well under 30. Also even though you don't have to be 6'6" to dunk, I certainly doesn't hurt. So instead of doing all these steps i am going to try to get taller over the next few months to see how that works.
He is so due for a good rant this year. I hope to see Ole Miss get blown out one game just to see his reaction...probably won't happen though since he is a good coach.
