New SE hall of fame inductee

The amount of media coverage that this press conference tyraid has recieved has in no way been overblown. I'm a few days behind on this, but Mike Gundy is certainly now in the Sweet Emotion Hall of Fame. He is our kind of man. His reasons for induction are:

1) He put the media back in it's place. The media attempts to exercise too much power and have more of a voice in spors than the sport itself is willing to hear. It controls way too much and thinks they know more than they do. He totally put them in their place.

2) He humiliated a woman who attempted to write an article about football

3) He proved women know nothing about football and shouldn't be allowed to have a public voice in it.

4) He defended his players and protected them.....by lashing out on an idiot woman

5) He reminded us again of all the great press conference flip-outs by coaches

"you play to win the game"...."they were who we thought they were!!"..."playoffs?? playoffs?"..."F*&% those f*&%$' fans who come out here and say they're Cub fans that are supposed to be behind you rippin' every F*&%$' thing you do"..."practice dawg, not a game, we talkin' bout practice"..."we couldn't do diddley poo on offense, we sucked, we got our a@$ kicked"..."I'm gonna KILL YOU!"..."put that in your pipe and smoke it!"..."the kids are playing their tails off and the coaches are screwing it up!"..

Where does Gundy's ramp rank in the history of outbursts??

Jim Mora's rants are by far the funniest, I still laugh at those.

That's my favorite too, he's the king if you ask me. It's sad he's not in coaching anymore. Also, can everyone identify the quotes with who they go with?? i probably should have included that.

We need to get a vote going on the best...

they were who we thought they were - Cardinals coach from last year... Green? Greene? Never remember how to spell it.

playoffs?? playoffs? - Mora (the god of flip outs)

practice dawg, not a game, we talkin' bout practice - Allen Iverson

the kids are playing their tails off and the coaches are screwing it up! - Don't know his name, but he is a commentator when he said this, not a coach. It was during a ND vs. USC game though (and as Jim Rome pointed out, he sounds like Howard Dean when he does it)

...no the "kids are playing their tails off" comes from Michigan State's coach as they were going into half time - he yells it to Jack Arute just before halftime.

i'm glad somebody's finally talking about the fact that a female wrote that article. i'm so tired of females ruining the sporting world. no female can offer me anything that i don't already know about sports, unless she's talking about hockey or softball. so no female can offer me anything that i don't already know about sports. i'm tired of female sportscenter anchors, i'm tired of female sideline reporters, i'm tired of female play-by-play announcers, i'm tired of female sportswriters, i'm tired of females on around the horn, i'm tired of females screwing everything up in my sports world. i was at a falcons game today however, and very much approve of female cheerleaders dancing at nfl games.

totally agree, those cheerleaders just need to bake some pies when they are not dancing!

It is always disheartening when you turn on the TV to watch a game only to find out that there is a woman announcing.

For example, I woke up early on Saturday to watch the LSU game at 11:00 AM (College Football should never be played before 4:00 PM). LSU was playing in the Superdome (LSU should only play in the superdome once every four years). LSU was wearing new uniforms (LSU should never wear new uniforms). And a woman was announcing the game (woman should never announce football, baseball, basketball games). If anyone else watched LSU/Tulane, all of those anomalies, but especially the female announcer were the reasons why LSU played so poorly in the first half. Woman announcers make football teams play worse.
